Another clear YES to the InnHub La Punt

The project for the InnHub La Punt innovation campus has taken another major hurdle. The voters of the municipality of La Punt Chamues-ch very clearly approved a partial revision of the site plan with 84%. A motion to postpone the proposal stood no chance.

The InnHub La Punt is one step closer to realization. The municipal assembly of the Grisons municipality of La Punt Chamues-ch has clearly approved a partial revision of the local site plan by 93 votes to 17. The architecture of the innovation campus by architect Norman Foster was the subject of discussion. Opponents of the project argued against the round roof shapes. Their proposal to postpone the project for revision and to deal with the revision at a later municipal assembly did not find favor with the electorate, however, and was rejected by a majority of 81%.

Caspar Coppetti, one of the co-initiators of the InnHub, is pleased with the clear popular decision: «The renewed, clear approval of our project is a great sign of confidence in our three years of very thorough development work. We are now proceeding with the detailed planning and the construction application. If everything goes smoothly, we would like to start construction next spring and open the InnHub toward the end of 2022.»

Stay tuned!
